Aislyn Nelson, M.D., Ph.D. was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Art in Neuroscience. Dr. Nelson was named a McNair scholar and earned her Medical Degree and Ph. D. from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She was then completed her internship and Dermatology residency at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Nelson is passionate about public outreach, sports and dermatology, and enjoys volunteering at community skin cancer skin checks. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the San Diego Dermatological Society. Dr. Nelson has a special interest in medical, cosmetic and procedural dermatology. Her interests outside of dermatology are leading her daughter’s girl scout troop, antique shopping and enjoying all that San Diego has to offer.
