Dr. Delaney joined the Neurology Center in 2018. He is a board certified member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology. He was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area. He graduated from Mount St. Mary's University with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Delaney completed his M.D. at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1994. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Neurology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He continued his training at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center with a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology.

Dr. Delaney served in the United States Navy in an Active Duty setting for over 20 years as a clinician and a Neurologist. His experiences include tours aboard Navy shipboard Hospital platforms as well as assignments to forward-deployed hospital platforms in Iraq with the US Marine Corps. He served as the Chairman of Neurology, as the Medical Director of the Stroke Program and as the Director of the Defense Veterans Brain Injury Center at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. He is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He enjoys general neurology but has a special interest in neuromuscular conditions and has extensive experience in conducting nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG) testing. He also has worked extensively on patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury and headache disorders.

Dr. Delaney believes that the best quality health care is achieved through a strong doctor-patient relationship, actively listening to his patient's concerns and meticulously delivering the best available compassionate care for patients and their families.
